Third Annual Festival Del Cuatro, November 15, 2008 at Scripps College in Claremont, CA
Bueno mi Gente,
The Festival Del Cuatro board, members and volunteers are excited and proud to bring the Third Annual Festival Del Cuatro to you. As we continue to get ready for this great event. We wanted to remind you of a couple things:
1. Save by getting your tickets online. You may purchase your tickets online only until midnight, this Friday November 14. Anytime after that you can get them at the door.
2. Come to our Free Workshops on Saturday, November 15 at Scripps College, Garrison Theater. The workshops will be from 1PM-3PM. See our website for more info.
1:00-1:40 Roberto Rivera presents on traditional and modern cuatro building techniques.
1:40-2:20 Edwin Colon Zayas and Bill Colon Zayas demonstrate the different types of music currently being played with the Cuatro.
2:20-3:00 Meet the musicians, Emma Colon Zayas, Maribel Delgado, Nelian Colon, Fabiola Mendez, Edwin Colon Zayas y su taller campesino. This segment is the ideal one to have that close interaction with the artists, photo ops, open forum for questions, anything is fair game. :-)
3. Come early for the Main Event that evening. Ticket booth will be open from 5:30PM. Doors to the event will open at 6PM, and the show starts at 6:30PM.
4. We will have various appetizers for you to have prior to the event. Go to our website to see the various departments and individuals from Scripps College that have sponsored in part this event. www.festivaldelcuatro.org
5. Stop by our Cuatro Raffle Table. Come take a look at this beautiful instrument built by me. This cuatro will be raffled off at the Festival. You may get your tickets online or just buy them at the festival! Wish you good luck. The instrument sounds Fantastic! The Cuatro will be signed by all the performing artists, definitely giving this instrument a value anywhere between $3000-$5000. You can see a short video we made with this instrument here:
